Well, besides the fact that I have found a new love for looking at celebrity blogs - I also discovered my new love for pairing purple and orange together. I have always liked pairing corals with turquoise, or bright yellow with navy blue, but something about the look of purple and orange together really struck me. It seems like a perfect combination for this time of year.
Kim's post showcased a purple and orange Gucci dress that she wore to the launch of her perfume in London, England.
I can't afford Gucci - but I figured I could put my eye for fashion to the test, to see if I could find some reasonably priced outfits that unite orange and purple in one cohesive look.
Let's see how it goes..
The first piece I found that I really liked was this dress:

Maxi Dress - Forever 21 - $27.80
Then I thought, why not pair an orange pair of shorts with purple sandals:

BDG Raw - Edge Corduroy Short - Urban Outfitters - $39.00

Gomax Women's Berdine - 30 Ankle-Strap Sandal - Endless.com - $30.00
And finally, I decided on a purple dress with a pop of orange in a purse:

Purple is my 16-year-old's favorite color and orange is my daughter's favorite hue. For years, we have tried to blend their favorites into our home and still maintain an asthetically pleasing home when we entertain visitors. It's been tough. Love the clothing selection and maybe now we can take a good family picture and allow all members of our family to sport their favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the June 27 US Weekly? I have a subscription and just got it in the mail. There are two pages of "Hot Pics" dedicated to "Hollywood's Kooky Color Combo," purple and orange. Love it! My fave pic is of Cheryl Cole - purple pants, orange top, and turquoise belt. Check it out - you are definitely right on trend!
