At the beginning of the month I finished my provisional period for the Junior League of Charlotte. Being a provisional member required completing 30 hours of service work at the Junior League Wearhouse located off of Pecan Avenue in Plaza-Midwood.

There are two sections of inventory - one for consignment items and one for thrift items. Each section contains amazing finds at incredible prices! The wearhouse has the following departments: women's, men's, children, shoes, accessories, and housewares.
While spending time at the wearhouse these are just a few of the designer labels I stumbled upon - Trina Turk, Lilly, Ferragamo, J Crew, Splendid, Citizen's of Humanity, Theory, Lacoste, and St. John. There is always new merchandise being put on the floor, and I imagine you will be unable to walk out of the doors empty handed.
I find it necessary to share my best wearhouse find with you. Not to downplay the Trina Turk beach cover-up or Clarks Wallabees but my absolute favorite find so far is a pair of barely worn Manolo Blahnik pumps on consignment for $39.99!!!! The Junior League Wearhouse is the only place where you can find $600 shoes for under $50...

Have you ever been thrift store shopping? What was your best find? Do you know of any other well stocked thrift stores in the area?

Your shoe find has absolutely hit a home run with my wife. We WERE going to go to a baseball game on Sunday. However, now apparently we are going shopping. All sarcasm aside, great find.
ReplyDeleteI love thrifting! I've never done it for clothes (though I don't have a good reason for skipping the high-end men's consignments in Charlotte) but I do it all the time for house stuff.
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorite finds include an amazing Jonathan Adler lamp and a bunch of decorative items. I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again: the world is full of many, many beautiful things that we just throw away when we're done with them. These items have life long beyond our definition of usefulness and we should share them with people who will use them once we're done!
Ooh, I'll definitely have to check out the JL shop! I used to go to the one in Atlanta all the time. Consignment stores are the best - people get rid of really nice things for the strangest reasons.
ReplyDeleteLove your find! I thrift shop for furniture all the time! But I haven't shopped for clothes as much... Sounds like I need to check out the JL!
