Beach Ready?

This morning I was looking at People Magazine online, and came across a picture of Supermodel Brooklyn Decker wearing a bright yellow mini dress, black necklace, and black booties.  It instantly made me think of summertime, and going to the beach.  I have found in the past that when you have a nice golden tan, yellow always intensifies it!  Seeing that she is a Supermodel and has the funds to purchase high end designer items, I decided to see if I could create a similar look at a fraction of the cost.

Supermodel, Brooklyn Decker
I began my search on Shop Style.  This website will search the Internet for any apparel item you want! An awesome tool when you know what you are looking for but have no idea where to find it.  After searching for yellow mini dresses, I was directed to Urban Outfitters where I found a BDG Basic Knit Tank Dress in yellow ($32).

If I am at the beach the last thing I want to do is put on a pair of high heels!  Brooklyn's booties are cute, but I decided to alter the look some and go with a flat sandal.  I used Shop Style to search for black flat sandals and was directed to Piperlime where I found a pair of KensieGirl Somaya sandals for $29.99 (originally $39).  The top of the sandal is woven similar to the style of the high heeled booties - which is a hot look right now!

Finally I went to Forever 21 to look for a similar necklace.  Ladies - if you want inexpensive bracelets, necklaces, or earrings, Forever 21 is the place to go!  Their jewelry ranges from $2-$20, and they have so many options to choose from.  I was able to find a Twelve By Twelve Jeweled Necklace on SALE for $7.99!

Drum role please...  See my look for less below - a combined total of $69.98 (before tax).

All Items were found online at: UrbanOutfitters.com, Piperlime.com & Forever21.com
What do you think? Would you purchase this outfit?  I think it is important to buy items that can be paired again with things you already have at home.  These three pieces can totally fit with other outfit options that I have.

When shopping do you find yourself looking online more often or do you still use the traditional outlet of in-store shopping?  I can admit that I have a nasty habit of online shopping, but want to make sure that the fashionable finds I provide appeal to other people's shopping tendencies as well.

Thank you for everyone that responded to my last post and shared where they find bargain buys!  Each week I will post a list that showcases local stores and websites that have trendy items for good prices.

Enjoy the weekend! And always remember there is always time to do a little shopping :)

  1. Wow Grayson! What a great outfit. While I don't think that the yellow dress, black shoes and jewelry will turn heads when I sport the outfit, my wife is an online shopaholic also. I will be passing your creative contributions on to her. She will appreciate what you are doing. So, if my wife benefits from your work, then so do I. Great Topic.
